Serving the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont since 1969, Orleans Essex VNA (Visiting Nurse Association) and Hospice provides professional home health or hospice care in the comfort and privacy of your own home. We work hard to preserve your dignity and provide education to help improve your quality of life. We accomplish this by promoting wellness and comfort, preventing disease complications and re-hospitalizations, and providing appropriate high-quality services to meet your individual needs.   

 

 

Services Offered

Adult Home Care:

A full range of high-quality services for those adults with acute or long-term illnesses. The diverse needs of clients are met through the appropriate utilization of services offered. These include: skilled nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, medical social services, nutritional guidance, licensed nursing assistants and telemonitoring.

Hospice and Palliative Care:

Designed for adults and children with a life-threatening/terminal illness, the program focuses on maintaining the highest quality of life for clients and families. A special kind of home care, it affirms life while dealing with end-of-life issues. team members provide physical, emotional and spiritual support to bring about peace, comfort and dignity. Care is provided by a coordinated team of professionals and volunteers, directed by the client and the physician.

Maternal-Child Health:

These services are centered on a strong home visiting, family-oriented model. A coordinated team approach provides comprehensive in-home assessment and prevention services to help ensure a healthy start in life.

Long Term Care:

Home & Community-Based Waiver enables eligible elderly and physically disabled adults to receive needed services in the home and community to avoid or delay nursing home placement. For participants who choose to have Personal Care Attendants provided by the agency, they receive assistance with cooking, cleaning, shopping and errands as needed.

Homemakers:

Designed for low-income elders and adults with disabilities to maintain a safe and healthy home environment by assisting with meals, housework, errands and companionship.

Private Duty:

All services are available on a private pay basis. That is, for services desired that are not included under an insurance policy, private duty services can be contracted on an hourly or ongoing basis. We offer staff management, homemaking, personal care and unavailable for any reason. Home First Quality Care services are available to you and your loved one 24 hours a day. 7 days a week. Special Programs

Preventing illness and detecting it early are key components of the Agency's mission. Programs to help promote health and provide support in our communities include:

  • Influenza Vaccine Clinics
  • Greant-Funded Programs

Payment Sources

Frees are based on Agency cost and may be adjusted to individual income. Medicare, Medicaid, and other health insurances cover the cost of many home care services. Other sources of support come form contributions and allocations from towns.
